It became painfully obvious to me back in 2008 when I worked in multiple gyms and studios how underserved women over 50 are in the health and fitness industry. My clients shared story after story with me how expectations of them did not fit their needs and were often left discouraged or ended up hurt. I started my business in 2010 to create the perfect experience for women 50+ to look, feel and function their best.
I’ve developed a methodology where my clients never have to worry about getting hurt during exercise, and instead know that their program is helping them feel fit, functional and free.
I believe our health is our greatest asset that is the cornerstone for enjoying activities like traveling, gardening, enjoying and making memories with your grandkids and kids, cherishing deep connections with friends, or contributing to a cause you believe in – anything you love to do – is available to you as long as you have your health.

Yoga and pilates are popular ways to exercise but they are not adaptable: you join it, it doesn’t adapt to you. Instructors of these methods are not trained to personalize these exercise methods but instead to keep a class moving and sweating. With Body Potential Fitness, while you enjoy the experience of a communal small class, you also have a very personalized experience. The best of both worlds 🙂
Physical therapy is a protocol that the Therapist must abide by, there is very little wiggle room for personalization or instruction relating to the rest of the body or future programing.
Unfortunately anyone with a 2 day certification can call themselves a personal trainer and most often they only know how to train one type of person: themselves. A client of mine gave me a great analogy when explaining her past personal training experience. “I felt like I went to my doctor and instead of listening to why I was there and assessing my ailments, he instead wrote me a prescription for the same medications he was taking.”
Body Potential Fitness personal training and group class programs are CUSTOMIZED to your unique abilities and targeted to help you meet your goals, rather than a one-size-fits-all model.
At first if you don’t have any equipment, thats no problem! It is advised to use a Yoga mat or carpeted surface, two sets of hand weights ranging from 3 lbs to 10 lbs so you have a lighter and heavier pair to choose from, and an exercise ball that fits your height. Some classes also utilize exercise bands with handles and a door anchor. But I can work with you around your existing equipment when first getting started.
You need enough space for a yoga mat to be rolled out lengthwise in any direction in the room you are planning to exercise in. The room should be carpeted if possible. Access to a door close by for band anchors (if using them) is also needed. That’s it!
We utilize the “Zoom” application to be able to see and hear each other great, while also being able to participate in a group. A laptop or tablet is preferred, but a cell phone can work as well. We offer technology support!! So don’t worry if you don’t see yourself as “tech savvy”, we’ve got you covered.

You can sometimes just join a different class at a time that works for you that week, or if I know you’ll be missing ahead of time I can record the class and send it to you to be done at your own convenience.
Body Potential Fitness has a monthly membership to participate in 1-3 classes a week starting at $170/month. There are no contracts to join and there are a ton of additions to your membership: including group nutrition coaching, masterclasses for specialized health topics and daily exercise routines.
Private exercise and nutrition coaching is also an option starting at $300/month.
