Physical therapy is a protocol that the Therapist must abide by, there is very little wiggle room for personalization or instruction relating to the rest of the body or future programing.
Unfortunately anyone with a 2 day certification can call themselves a personal trainer and most often they only know how to train one type of person: themselves. A client of mine gave me a great analogy when explaining her past personal training experience. “I felt like I went to my doctor and instead of listening to why I was there and assessing my ailments, he instead wrote me a prescription for the same medications he was taking.”
